Don't forget - just because you're not playing every week doesn't mean that the boots can be swapped for the TV remote! If we all make an effort to keep up with at least some strenuous physical activity during the summer we'll be in better shape to start next season at full pace!

Buzzards Star for Bredon Star |
On 20th April 2010 three players from the under 17 team were called up to play for Bredon Star 1st XV in their Cup semi-final against local rivals Tewkesbury RFC. Jon Green (No6), Joe Freeman (No10) and Louis Wones (No14) all played exceptionally well and although they lost 41-7 they enjoyed the experience of playing at the much higher level.
They follow three other under 17's who have already played for the senior teams earlier in the season - Paul Merchant, George Swainson and Luke Evans. All of them are looking forward to playing against the Bredon Star team on the 30th of April.

Bredon U17 Win International Silverware |
Bredon U17 travelled to Ghent in Belgium over the Easter weekend to take part in the prestigious Ghent International Festival – now in its 20th year.
The tour had its first hiccup when Sea France went on strike just as the tour bus reached Dover, but nifty footwork got the party onto a P&O ferry with only a two hour delay. Next the gear box of the tour bus broke shortly after arrival in Belgium. Undeterred, the party reached Ghent by a mixture of lifts on another team’s bus and train.
Once the rugby started on Sunday things got back on track. In the first pool game Bredon were up against Crediton and were just too strong. The game was shortened to 10 minutes each way at Crediton’s request and Bredon won 33-5. In the second pool game Bredon comfortably defeated Burton 29-0.
In the final Bredon faced Coalville. Things looked good when Bredon scored a try from the kick-off. Coalville then struck back immediately with an interception. However this was to be their final score as Bredon then ran away with the match scoring 8 more tries. The final was played without conversions so the final score was 45-5.
Bredon thus claimed the trophy and participated in a lively awards ceremony which also included the Ladies Swiss National team who won the Ladies Trophy and Wyvern Warriors, winners of the Men’s trophy.
Tournament try scorers were Andrews, Attwood (2), Bunch, Gabb (2), Graulich, Harkness (3), Lees (2), Merchant, Prudden, Rees (2), Swainson and Wilson (2). Conversions Attwood (5) and Freeman

Feedback wanted! |
As we approach the end of the first season using the new web site, we would like your feedback on how you think it has panned out, any ideas you might have on what we could do better, or just your thoughts on what has worked out well.
We are already planning to extend the 'Teams' area to make it easier for the team coaches/managers to include information about their players and to upload photos for match reports, and possibly a Blog area for discussion about local and general rugby issues, but we would like to know if you think there are other things that would make the site more attractive or useful. Maybe we're missing some information you think would be very useful, or perhaps you just can't get on with the 'dark' colour scheme and would prefer to work with dark text on a white background.
If you would like to send us an email with your thoughts and ideas we would be happy to hear from you.

U11’s visit Gloucester RFC |

Bredon U11’s spent a fantastic day at Kingsholm for the Gloucester v Wasps Premier League match shown live on Sky Sports. After a stadium tour the boys were treated to a training session with Luke Narraway before the evening culminated in a half time parade around the pitch. Despite Gloucester losing the game the boys all had a fantastic experience.

New web site launch! |
We start the 2009-10 season with a new look for the web site. We hope you like it, and that you keep coming back to see what new stuff is added as the season progresses.
We expect to be adding things like a new photo gallery, more news and events, and regular match reports - with logins for the team managers so they can write the reports themselves!
Of course, if you have any ideas about things we could include or improve, please let us know.

Training gets under way |
Forget all that nonsense about the Ashes and get stuck into a real game! Sunday September 6th sees the new season finally get under way with the first full-on training sessions start at 10am on Sunday, so dust off your boots, grab your gumshield, and get down there!
Don't forget to check the 'Fixture Status' panel on the Home page for any updates on whether each week's training sessions or matches are going ahead. This will be important later in the season as the weather gets worse and matches may have to be cancelled or postponed.
